HOW TO REGISTER AND PAY FOR CLASSES & WORKSHOPS:
DOWNLOAD A REGISTRATION FORM FROM OUR WEBSITE or pick one up at Lakewood Arts or register online
MAIL or DELIVER your registration form and payment to: Lakewood Arts Council, 6731 West Colfax Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80214     Open Wed-Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4 PM. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

OR you may register and pay using a credit card by calling Lakewood Arts at (303) 980-0625 during regular business hours
OR  use the "BUY Now" buttons below on the website to purchase a class.  Your name will be entered on the registration page at the gallery . You will receive an email receipt from PayPal.  Online payment for March classes will be added soon (you can call the gallery anytime.

*To assist our instructors with planning, we’d appreciate having a completed registration form and payment by the deadline given for each class or workshop description. THE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT ALL THE SAME.

*If enough students do not register for a class, it may be cancelled. You will be notified and your fee refunded for any classes that an instructor cancels.
. Your name address and phone number will be given to the instructor in the rare case that a problem occurs and a class needs to be changed.  

Please read the class description carefully for materials and start times for a class.  Classes are nonrefundable unless it is canceled  (Fees will be refunded within 14 days).

If the minimum number of students do not register for a class, it may be cancelled. If so, the instructor will notify you and your fee refunded by check through the mail (allow 7 to 10 days)

In case of bad weather, a class or workshop may be either cancelled or rescheduled. Your instructor will be in touch with you, or you may give them a call to find out. Refunds will be made if applicable.

To assist our instructors with planning, please register and pay by the deadline given for each class. It helps instructors with their planning. Some instructors may allow paying up until day of their class or workshop, but you must arrive earlier.

If you wanted to take a class but missed the registration/payment deadline, please call the instructor directly to see if there’s room. Their number is on this
schedule. There may be an additional $10.00 fee for late registrations. Instructor should let the gallery know that they have approved you as an additional student past the maximum number listed in the schedule.

Classes may not be prorated; you must pay the entire class fee. Also, LAC does not make refunds for missed classes.

These events are low cost, no cost or donation, and do not require registration or payment ahead of time

OPEN STUDIO is available every Friday 11AM - 3:30 PM, unless an event is scheduled during that time. Please check first. Donations are welcome but not required. This is a time when you can work independently in a quiet, creative environment with other artists.

FIRST FRIDAY of each month, Lakewood Arts is open until 8:00 pm. There will be live music, snacks, beverages, and demonstrations. There’s usually a new exhibit each month in the Acorn Gallery (located within Lakewood Arts Gallery). The First Friday Art Walk includes several other art galleries also open late within the 40 West Arts District. We hope you’ll come join us!

#LB02  Beginning Flamework Glass Beads

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Grab a couple of friends and learn how glass beads are created. Using a torch with oxygen and propane, you will melt glass rods to create your beads. Safety is discussed.  You will receive a handout for future reference. Finished beads may be picked up the next day.  There are no set days. Class times are arranged whenever there are 2 or 3 students that can work at the same time. Class is held at Crazy Woman Glass Studio in Lakewood. To schedule your class, contact Leslie Bitgood directly at the listed email or phone number. COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Working from a unique still life set, artists are encouraged to try new methods and expand their style.  There will be a 15 minute lecture on drawing or color theory and additional help as requested.

MATERIALS:  Bring your own art supplies: Drawing materials, papers, canvases, boards and easel.  Some easels are available on a first come basis.

#AS022  Kids Create – Button Make Space

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Create your own epic buttons! We will use the Button Machine to cut out 1" round pictures (printed or handmade) and then make a mini-masterpiece button. Take home 4 buttons. Parents can sign up too!

#RCR20  Portrait in Squares, a Simple Solution Anyone Can Master

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  In the course of 3 hours you will create a portrait of the person, or pet of your choice in pastel or colored pencil (experienced artists may choose to paint their portrait, please request from the instructor). Easy dissection of the portrait with anatomy lessons will give you greater insight into the human, or mammal, face.

MATERIALS:  Students should bring a letter-sized black & white printout of the person or animal of choice. Pastels and charcoal paper are provided. If you wish to work in colored pencil on paper or acrylic on canvas please notify the instructor. (Phone and email above.)

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

You see others doing it all the time, drawing cute little doodles on their class or meeting notes, or while they're on the phone. Doodling can actually improve your ability to remember what you're hearing. It also improves focus and opens up creative doorways in the brain. Instructor Kristi Czajkowski will walk you through a number of different doodling techniques so that YOU can be the one embellishing your notes at your next meeting!

Annette Sapp will help you use sterling silver ear wires, and your choice from a large selection of glass, crystal and stone beads to create your one of a kind earrings.

#KC020  Origami Paper Cranes

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  Paper cranes are not only beautiful, they also have a lovely tradition behind them. It is said that anyone with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 paper cranes will be granted their most fervent wish. Instructor Kristi Czajkowski will tell you the story of the paper cranes, and then walk you through the process of folding them. You will go home with a work aid to help you fold more, because, as another tradition says, the beginning of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
